Marked by P.C. Cast, and Kristin Cast is an amazing action-packed book! I chose this book because it was recommended to me by a friend. I started reading it, and was immediately captivated. It had everything a good story needed and was an excellent vampire book. I also chose this book for my book review blog because I know a lot of people who like vampire books. So here is another book about vampires that you can read and hopefully enjoy.

The main character is a girl named Zoey whom is about seventeen years old. After she is marked by a vampyre (which is how they spell vampire in this book) her friends and family become afraid of her. But when her step-dad calls his group of Elders and the Psychiatrist, Zoey escapes to her grandmother's house. When she gets there she hits her head, and comes face to face with the vampyre goddess: Nyx. She then faints again and finds herself at the House of Night (an institute where vampyres go to learn about all things vampyre). She stands out at the House of Night because of her filled in mark, which is unusual for a third-former (sophomore). She makes great friends there, but also finds an enemy, Aphrodite, the most popular girl in school and head of the Dark Daughters. Soon Zoey finds out more about Aphrodite's evil nature and plans to take over. Zoey knows she has to do something. But when Zoey starts to see ghosts that try to kill her, finds she may have powers of a High Priestess, has a thirst for blood, and may have imprinted on her human almost ex-boyfriend, she finds none of this will be easy. Will she be able to beat Aphrodite and spoil her evil plans, while also solving all her other predicaments? You have to read the book for the answers!!!

I have chosen the quote "Zoey Montgomery! Night has chosen thee; thy death will be thy birth. Night calls to thee; harken to Her sweet voice. Your destiny awaits you at the House of Night." This is said to her by a vampyre tracker. I chose this quote because this is what started Zoey's life as a vampyre. This is when she gets marked and has to move away into the House of Dark. I think it is the most important quote in the book because this starts all of the mystery and adventure in the book. This also sets her whole future. This quote caused everything that happened in the book to happen, it also set the whole backbone of the book.

I give this book four moons out of five. I chose moons because they are the symbol that appears over your eye when you are marked and gets added to as you get older. It symbolizes that you are a vampyre and sets you apart from human mortals. Zoey's mark is very special because the moon above her eye is filled in which sets her apart from all the other vampyres her age. Her mark symbolized that she was special and marked by Nyx (the vampyre goddess).

I recommend this book to anybody who likes vampires, action/adventure, and mystery stories. The first page captivates you and sucks you into a whole new world, it's vampyres like you've never seen them before. You should really read this book because it has everything a vampire story needs, but with a twist. It also puts your imagination to work and the characters come to life. It is a humorous, well thought out, and amazing book that vampire lovers (or anyone else) will enjoy. If you loved Twilight you will most probably love this book too. WARNING: this book is not for people who can't stand blood. It also has light swearing in it, violent/ gory scenes (it is a vampire story after all), and sexual content. This book is mostly for ages 12 and up.

Sounds like a great old-fashioned vampire book. I'm not really in to vampire books but I might check this one out. Thanks great review.
